February 12 at 8:50 AMWe stopped buying sponges and switched to the Swedish dish cloths and washrags for cleaning. We’re still trying to move away from our dish washing wand (has a sponge on the end), which we’ve used for convenience for quickly washing dishes that aren’t dishwasher safe.

February 12 at 8:44 AMI’d guess it’s more for ease of transporting goods than anything, so probably more to the producer/seller’s benefit, though for consumers it can be more appealing to buy a bag of something rather than taking time to individually count/assess what you need.
