Plastic Free Wannabees

As I notice plastic everywhere I now look for alternatives everywhere. I'll probably try a few shampoo bars because I am not completely happy with mine. Right now I am feeling like the need to reduce plastics is so crucial that any aesthetic risk to me is small and totally worthwhile.

I can't imagine I am the only one who wants clean sidewalks and parks and maybe others could simply feel better when they see a clean public area?

I have now washed my hair with a shampoo bar twice now (Lush brand Honey I Washed My Hair). Lots of foam which is good! Easy rinsing! Hair feels a bit stringy though and my natural waves seem straightened. I have thick, short, and fine textured hair. I'm willing to continue to see how a no bottle wash goes.

I find this task to be very difficult.  I freeze a lot of home grown produce and seasonal, locally sourced fruit and putting it in jars works okay, but jars take up extra space and occasionally break (which is a hazard and a waste of food).  Freezing leftovers is fine, as the food is not in the freezer very long, usually.  Buying metal...

Since it's citrus season, it feels pretty easy to put the fruit directly into my shopping cart. I haven't found bags that have the same light weight as plastic bags for apples, etc. (produce where we eat the skin). Anyone have any ideas?
