    At Home Avoid Harmful Plastics

Probably too many. Packaging for toys and other items seems to have this very moldable plastic. The blue mushroom containers have it.

    Food Ditch the Baggie
When is it hardest not to use a plastic bag? What can motivate you to stick to your goal in those cases?

It is hardest not to use a plastic bag when I am in a rush or feeling tired. Also for something like puppy chow which I usually mix in a bag. Picturing baby animals crying can motivate me to try mixing puppy chow in a bowl.

Personal Care Switch to a Plastic-Free Shave
What has been your experience with switching to a plastic-free razor? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors?

My metal razor feels fancy. I do have to be more careful about knicks. I still like a disposable razor for travel as my metal razor is bigger and heavier.

    No difference, just the packaging.
  • Reflection Question
Food Cook Meals with Zero Plastic Waste
Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some low-waste or reusable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable? Are there any items where it would be difficult to avoid plastic waste?

Condiments seem to be the most difficult in my kitchen. I make my own salad dressing in a reusable glass container but mustard, ketchup, mayo, siracha, etc those are all in plastic containers. I don't think I could make all of those successfully from scratch and still have time to make dinner. I could search for glass containers when shopping for those items next time. Maybe a brand does offer non-plastic packaging.

I have one of these that cost around $10.

love the idea on making salad dressing, I have been using olive vinegar lately which is easy. I have also found that I like straight olive oil on a salad.

How does swapping out prepackaged snacks for fresh fruit or veggies or homemade or bulk items benefit your household?

I'm more likely to choose a healthy snack when I'm wanting sugar by reaching for an apple or my trail mix (with raisons and chocolate chips)

    Community Pick Up Plastic Litter
How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

Picking up litter shows that a community is cared for. I can help my community feel cared for by picking up litter. My hope is: in a litter-free neighborhood, folks will be more likely to responsibly take care of their waste.

    At Home Shop Used
What kinds of items have been easy for you to find used? What has been hard?

Thinking only of plastic used items, it is easy for me to find seasonal or decorative items used. I'm more hesitant buying used plastic kitchen items because they usually look well used.

Several I'm sure. Kids toys, especially bath toys, window blinds, plastic tupperware that I've been reusing

On-the-go Use A Reusable Mug or Collapsible Cup
Great job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? Are there any situations where you still struggle to use a reusable mug?

If I want a coffee drink from a coffee shop on the go, I may not have my reusable cup with me. That's when I get into trouble.
