    I don't think that there is any difference in the quality of food that I buy in bulk or prepackaged.  I think that many people think that food is cleaner or fresher if is it packed in plastic.  This might be true for some food but certainly not all.

    I am not sure why they have so much plastic.  I expect that it is easier for stores to have food delivered to them in plastic containers rather than in bulk.  For example, grapes in small plastic boxes probably arrive in better shape than grapes shipped in large boxes.  Also, stores may think that the produce is more sanitary as people aren't...

    No, all the fast food & restaurants are quick to give you a plastic straw unless you quickly request no straw

    We use gallon water bottles & refill them 'til they leak. They last a few months. In addition, we now only use that water for coffee. Our tap water is fine for drinking & cooking.

    The experience hasn't changed much but I do feel good about not having to throw all the single use bottles and/or packaging in the recycling or trash.  I have found the home made cleaning products generally clean well and are easy to make.  Have yet to use the bar shampoo and conditioner as I need to use up my regular shampoo/conditioner first.

    Even though I have been trying for sometime to reduce my use of plastic, I find that plastic is very difficult to avoid when buying many foods or other items.  For example, I needed batteries and could only find batteries that were encased in plastic.  Avoiding plastic is even more difficult during COVID as we tend to do more takeout rather...
