Pretty good! We kept the plastic that we did produce over the challenged to see how we could cut back more. Some of these plastics were things that we had bought before, but finished during the challenge. Some too, we've started buying in bulk, like choco chips and brown sugar. Lots of dog treat bags, tortilla chip bags, and random plastic bags from mail. We made homemade dog treats which we will be trying to do more regularly, and we want to try to make our own yogurt. We also would love any suggestions on how to avoid plastics when buying cheese...

We'll maybe have time to try a new recipe today, it's been difficult with some commitments the past couple of nights to try something new and take the time to do it.

I'm having a hard time finding a good compostable floss system...I looked again at the store and didn't see reusable packaging.

It was harder than expected to find compostable floss. I looked at the Wedge and found some options, but it was hard to know if they were compostable - nothing was very clear. I got one option and will have to do some more asking the next time I'm at the Wedge.

Personal Care Switch to compostable floss
Flossing is a hard habit to maintain for a lot of people! Does making your flossing routine more sustainable give you motivation to keep up this notoriously difficult habit?

I don't know yet if this will make it more motivating to floss regularly, time will tell!

We watched Plastic Wars. Though I know we have stronger than average plastic recycling markets in the upper midwest, it still really showed how much plastic doesn't get recycled, even in states that are doing better than most, and that we should be focusing on reducing our plastic consumption and holding oil and gas corporations that produce plastics accountable. That's a long run-on sentence!

We watched Plastic Wars to learn more. I learned more about the history of the plastics industry and the advertising that has led us all astray on how effective recycling is.

At Home Skip the Dryer Sheets
How difficult (or easy!) has it been for you to cut dryer sheets from your laundry routine?

It was relatively easy to cut the dryer sheets since we had only been using 1/2 sheet to begin with. Now we just have one of those balls that helps reduce static that we put in the dryer.

We decided to just stop using dryer sheets. We had only been using 1/2 sheets to begin with, so it doesn't feel like much of a stretch to stop using them

I need to look up yogurt recipes...and try it!
