Great networking, eye opening, life long changes.
Thanks Abbey for making this happen.

Food Cook Meals with Zero Plastic Waste
Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some low-waste or reusable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable? Are there any items where it would be difficult to avoid plastic waste?

Still working on this. I thought breakfast would be the easiest. Will need to buy bulk granola to make this work.
Much more conscious of my plastic use.

I have been using vinegar and baking soda for cleaning and looking to adding more homemade cleaners to my list.

Single use plastics have become normalized in our society to the point that most people don't see them as a problem. What did you do to advocate for less single-use items? What would you say to a friend, colleague, or family member who may not understand why these disposables are an issue?

I checked in with my vet when picking up my dog’s prescription which I pick up every two weeks, using a new prescription bottle. I asked about reusing the current one that I have for a refill. Currently they are not set up for this, he will take this to his team.

Didn’t realize the recycle center was on Jefferson highway where I usually drop off items. Need to pay more attention!🥴

You can also drop them at the grocery store. Cub and Byerly's have a container between the entry doors. We save our bread bags and frozen berry bags to recycle this way.

Do some research on polystyrene and polyvinyl. How many items in your house already contain these toxins?

Quite a few, shocking! Reminder not to use plastic when microwaving. The article reinforced the idea to avoid plastics.
    More familiar with the types.

What are the benefits of switching to bamboo, wood, or recycled-content toothbrushes? How could you get others to make this change, too?

Less waste in the environment. I have been talking to others about what I have doing to increase awareness. I have also gifted some friends with reusable items to get them thinking about their usuage of plastic.
