I previously did the Zero Waste Challenge and so I was already doing many of the things this challenge suggests. Picking up litter has been a way to push me further and outside of my own home.

You'll be an Hennepin County Plastic-Free Challenge expert in no time!
I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, acrylic or spandex.
I will try a new recipe or food preparation method, such as canning, pickling, making yogurt, or baking granola bars or bread.
I will pick up 1 piece(s) of plastic litter each day and dispose of it responsibly.
I will prepare 1 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
I will reuse existing bags such as pet food bags, grocery bags, or online shopping bags instead of buying new bags to line my trash containers.
I will plan an herb or vegetable garden for next year at my home, workplace, or community garden.
Manufacturers want you to replace your phones every year. I will keep my phone for at least 3 years and make any necessary repairs or updates to keep it functioning as long as possible.
I will make 2 of my own cleaning products (cleaners, detergents, soaps) instead of buying them in new spray bottles each time.
