I watched the PBS documentary Plastic Problem and co-led a discussion group after the film. Depressing to learn of the tragic plastic pollution that drifts onto Easter Island continuously.  Interesting to hear about small businesses which have switched to all compostable dishes and silverware for takeout, because their customers requested it. Disappointing to learn that Coca Cola doesn't really have a plan to replaces plastic bottles, but does have a plan to try to recapture more of the used bottles.  Both Coca Cola and Unilever have Sustainability Officers, but their plans leave alot to be desired.

I make an all-purpose cleaner using one-part white vinegar, one-part water, some lemon rind and dried rosemary.  I also add a drop of mild dishwashing soap.  I put it in a spray bottle and it works very well.

I watched the PBS Frontline special called "Plastic Wars", which was created in March of 2020.  It gave a history of plastics and the beginning of recycling in the early 70s.  Then I learned that it is economically unfeasible to recycle some types of plastic so they end up being sent to Asia and much of it ends up being burned.  Not many solutions were discussed, but we will learn more about that on February 13th when our own  Kira Berglund will talk to us about Best Practices in Plastics Recycling.
