I will swap 3 prepackaged snacks for unpackaged fruits or veggies or homemade or bulk items each time we need more.
At Home
Reuse Trash Bags Instead of Purchasing New
I will reuse existing bags such as pet food bags, grocery bags, or online shopping bags instead of buying new bags to line my trash containers.

At Home
Ditch the Disposable Cleaning Wipes

Reflection QuestionFood Make Your OwnHow do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?
Mandy Burrows 2/19/2023 11:01 AMIt is time consuming and this seems to be to be more of a weekly task than an every day task. Buying individually wrapped snacks is convenient, but the kiddos leave the wrappers and bags all over and I do not like all that garbage. This one is going to be a tough one to keep doing. -
Reflection QuestionAt Home Reuse Trash Bags Instead of Purchasing NewWhat are some of the challenges or benefits you have experienced using reused bags instead of a bag purposely designed to hold trash?
Mandy Burrows 2/19/2023 10:59 AMWe use plastic shopping bags for trash bags. This means our trash bin is rather small and needs to be emptied more often, but I LOVE not buying new plastic bags and instead reusing plastic bags. -
Reflection QuestionAt Home Plan a GardenBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Mandy Burrows 2/19/2023 10:55 AMCan pick the variety I like and home-grown taste better. Can pick them at the peak of ripeness and can avoid chemicals applied on them. Love watching them grow and taking care of them, especially with my kiddos. -
