Reflection QuestionAt Home Watch a DocumentaryWhich documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 7:34 AMThe Plastics problem -found that the manufacturers of plastic mislead all with the 'recycling symbol' and that only 10% of all plastics are actually recycled as the rest are not financially or economically able to be recycled. This has been going on since the 70's and something has to be done now as our earth cannot handle this. There is so much dumping of trash, hidden, sent to other countries polluting cities and damaging the earth. -
Reflection QuestionFood Ditch the Plastic WrapWhich method did you try? Do you prefer reusable containers or reusable wraps?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:28 AMeasier and better for the earth to use reusable containers than use the plastic wrap as it doesn't always stick on the dish to keep it fresh. -
Reflection QuestionAt Home Plastic-Free Caffeine RoutineHow has removing your single-use plastics impacted your caffeine routine?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:25 AMI have stopped buying plastic pop bottles and get the metal cans instead. I am still working on not using plastic water bottles and using sink water instead. -
Reflection QuestionAt Home Ditch the Disposable Cleaning WipesHow have you modified your cleaning routine to make sure you aren't using disposable wipes? Are you satisfied with the results?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:24 AMIt has been a little harder not to use disposable wipes as they feel so 'handy' however i have tried to use old rags and keep them ready to use for this type of cleaning and I can wash them again and again and save the money and the world from more garbage! -
Reflection QuestionOn-the-go Use reusable to-go containersWhat did you think about your experience with the returnable container system?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:22 AMReusable containers actually keep your food fresher, has a better seal and can be used again and again! -
Reflection QuestionOn-the-go Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:21 AMI have made sure to use utensils i have at home instead of the plastic cutlery. The plastic cutlery actually is so thin it sometime breaks when you try to use it. It is easier to use your silverware at home and save the world form extra plastics! -
Reflection QuestionAt Home Avoid Harmful PlasticsDo some research on polystyrene and polyvinyl. How many items in your house already contain these toxins?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:20 AMEgg container has polystyrene and some of the other food service items I have gotten when ordering food from restaurants. Items such as my laundry detergent and other flexible plastics have polyvinyl -
Reflection QuestionOn-the-go Use Reusable BagsHow difficult was this action for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:16 AMreusable bags are sturdier and actually hold more items than plastic bags! -
Reflection QuestionFood Skip Single-Use Plastic for Freezing FoodHow easy or difficult have you found this task? Is there a way you could rearrange your freezer to make this work better?
Cindi Bratton 2/27/2023 6:15 AMI use reusable containers to store the food instead of plastic wrap and it actually works better !
