I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
On-the-go
Use reusable to-go containers
I will use a restaurant's deposit system for reusable cups and/or takeout containers.
At Home
Reuse Trash Bags Instead of Purchasing New
I will reuse existing bags such as pet food bags, grocery bags, or online shopping bags instead of buying new bags to line my trash containers.
At Home
Choose Natural Clothing Fibers
I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, acrylic or spandex.

I will complete a plastic consumption calculator to learn about my plastic footprint.
At Home
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about plastic waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Food
Cook Meals with Zero Plastic Waste
I will prepare 1 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.

Mia Beste 2/08/2023 8:13 PMIt's incredible how much food is packaged or carried in plastic. It's felt good to be intentional about removing plastics from my food sources (including how I save my leftovers)! -

Mia Beste 2/05/2023 7:45 PMMy first check in! I'm still getting the hang of this. I'd advise choosing actions that you can plan and accomplish within a day or two. I selected a few that I want to do (eg, plan a garden), not realizing that it wasn't timely for our regular check ins. Let us know how things are going for you!
